ABOUT CATHY

6738cw

I believe in the power of green veggies, sunlight + hugs from local farmers.
I cherish moments of silence + stillness, in the midst of the chaos.
I’ll never stop searching for simple solutions to everyday ailments.
Because everyone deserves to feel safe, nourished + happy.
And life is supposed to feel good.

My name is Cathy Wong, and I’m a licensed naturopathic doctor, certified nutrition specialist, and the author of The Inside Out Diet: 4 Weeks to Natural Weight Loss, Total Body Health, and Radiance. I’m also the co-founder of Wellpicked Media, corporate wellness consultant + busy mama of two beautiful boys … who (usually) eat their veggies.

I didn’t become an alternative medicine specialist on purpose. In fact, it was an unexpected plot twist. In college, I intended to study clinical psychology. And I did — until undergraduate stress, exhaustion, weight gain + a general sense of icky-ness compelled me to explore some dietary adjustments + alternative remedies.

I was astonished at how much better I felt — and how much energy I had — just by making a series of simple, sensible changes to my diet + lifestyle.

More greens. Less beige.
More movement. Less sitting.
More inspiration. Less agitation.

With my curiosity running high, I switched gears after I graduated + enrolled at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. I found a world of ancient philosophy + practical wisdom — blended with modern-day science. I found my calling. And I never looked back.

Over the past 12 years, my life has a changed a lot — I married the love of my life, moved to a new country, become a mom, released my first book + got invited to contribute to dozens of glossy magazines + radio programs … for starters.

But a few things have remained the same.

I still believe that good health is simpler than we think.
I still rock out to classic Madonna.
I still fuel myself with fresh, seasonal, natural foods.
And I’m still profoundly curious — about why we get sick, what keeps us well,
and the wonderful mystery of how to be happy.

So that’s my story — for now.

If you’d like to follow my adventures in health, wellness + happiness — with seasonal recipes, home-brewed remedies, hand-picked finds, and the occasional farmers’ market hug-fest — head over to my blog or Facebook page.

If you’d like to hire me to co-design a menu for your restaurant or spa, create a company-wide wellness program for your business, or help you identify new opportunities + trends in the holistic healthcare industry, head over here.

If you’d like to wave hello, ask a question, request an interview, or just send some love in my direction, this is the spot.

Here’s to curiosity, raw carrots + revolutionary wellness.
