Baby food used to come in jars and that was about all, but recently there have been many innovative products to help kids get their fruits and vegetables. The HappyBaby/HappyFamily line, which is fairly new, had a large booth at Natural Product Expo West this year. They have cereal puffs, melts, and other snack foods but their frozen baby line looks promising for parents who need the convenience of prepared baby food.
Other companies had pouches with dried fruit and vegetable powders that could be mixed with water, breastmilk, or formula, and there were readymade purees in pouches (pictured here). These pouches may not be as appealing as frozen cubes, but they’re convenient for traveling or other situations when no refrigeration is available.
